Student Well-Being & Support

Enriching Every Child's Emotional and Academic Journey

At our school, we recognise that each student is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and potential. Our comprehensive support system guarantees that every child receives the guidance they need to flourish from day one.

A strong sense of trust defines our community, ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and connected as they grow. We help students develop the competencies and self-assurance needed to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Through dedicated programmes and close collaboration with families, we create an environment where students can become the best version of themselves. Our holistic approach nurtures academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and practical life skills that will serve them well beyond school.

Our Expert Psychology Department

CIV’s commitment to excellence extends beyond academics, with students’ emotional well-being recognised as the foundation for effective learning. Our Psychology Department plays a central role in student support, working closely with teachers to understand each child’s unique strengths and areas for growth. Through ongoing collaboration and regular assessment, we develop personalised strategies that evolve with each student’s changing needs, supporting both academic progress and emotional balance.

The department also provides individual counselling and learning support, ensuring every student has access to professional guidance when needed. Whether a child requires help with emotional regulation, academic challenges, or personal development, our qualified psychologists offer expert support in a confidential and caring environment.

Emotional Skills Training

From nursery onwards, we implement specially designed programmes that help children recognise, understand, and manage their emotions effectively. Our innovative initiatives, such as Let's Scare Fear and Emotion Workshops, are tailored specifically for our youngest learners in Early Years and Primary.

These programmes teach children essential emotional literacy skills through age-appropriate activities that nurture empathy, self-awareness, and respectful relationships. Students learn to identify their feelings, understand the emotions of others, and develop healthy coping strategies that will benefit them throughout their lives.

The foundation established during these early years fosters confident, emotionally intelligent students who are better equipped to handle challenges, excel academically, and form meaningful relationships with their peers and teachers.

Student Development Opportunities

Our commitment to student development extends far beyond the classroom, with a focus on personal growth and future readiness across all educational stages. These opportunities enable students to graduate not only with outstanding academic qualifications but also with the hands-on experience, cultural awareness, adaptability, and self-reliance needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Career Preparation

In addition to emotional skills training from the early years, we provide comprehensive guidance from Middle School onwards to help students explore their academic and professional pathways through career orientation assessments and the innovative Unifrog platform. We also provide carefully planned resources and facilities that optimise learning, participation, and achievement, supporting students to reach their full potential.

Students have access to vocational internships that provide invaluable work experience, as well as university study visits, offering first-hand exposure to different academic and professional environments.

International Experiences

Our students can also participate in the Inspired Student Exchange Programme with other schools worldwide. This opportunity further expands their horizons, fostering independence, cross-cultural understanding, and global citizenship.

Development Opportunities to Empower Our Educators

We invest significantly in our staff’s professional development, providing regular training sessions that equip teachers with the latest tools, skills and techniques to support student engagement, achievement, and well-being.

Our training programmes also focus on staff well-being, recognising that educators who feel supported and valued are better positioned to provide exceptional care for their students. This creates a positive cycle, where staff well-being directly enhances student support and achievement.

As an international school serving families from diverse cultural, religious, and personal backgrounds, our staff are trained to foster an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates and respects the richness of CIV’s Global Family.
