Our holistic education ensures that graduates are not only successful professionals but also compassionate, ethical leaders ready to make a difference in the world.

Inspiring Future Graduates with Success Stories

Our alumni show that ambition and values go hand in hand. From founding healthcare networks in Africa to advancing aerospace research in Europe, they are tackling complex challenges with confidence, ethical grounding, and creativity. Their achievements inspire current students to dream boldly, work diligently, and lead responsibly.

Former students often return to campus to share their journeys, offering guidance, mentoring, and real-world perspectives. These interactions motivate the next generation of graduates as they prepare for life beyond school.

Strategic consulting led this accomplished alumnus to establish a network of optical clinics across West Africa. After securing scholarships to universities in Spain, Denmark, Singapore and Brazil, he credits his school years with developing the critical thinking and ethical foundation that guide his entrepreneurial ventures and multicultural leadership today.

At Vilamoura International School, he learned to communicate with confidence, take responsibility early and build solutions with autonomy—values of teamwork, time management, empathy and discipline he still applies as a leader and as a father.

— Raul Burgos dos Santos, Entrepreneur – Founder, Optical Clinics Network, West Africa

Now Global Partnerships & Strategy Manager at Grupo Ageas Portugal (formerly at Amazon), Tânia traces her trajectory to a relational, hands‑on pedagogy at CIV. Twelve years of academic excellence built a strong work ethic, responsibility and self-assurance to pursue ambitious goals.

Beyond the classroom, she developed a deep love of the arts—especially painting—through the Arts Club. She also became an avid reader via national reading projects, with a particular fondness for historical fiction.Regular presentations honed clear, assertive communication before large audiences, while CIV’s emphasis on autonomy and critical thinking made her organised and effective in managing complex tasks. Growing up in an inclusive, diverse community shaped a global mindset. She continues to live by humility, professional pride, rigour, persistence and ambition.

— Tânia Braz, Global Partnerships & Strategy Manager – Grupo Ageas Portugal (formerly Amazon)

At the Financial Stability Department of Banco de Portugal, Diogo applies the analytical discipline he refined at CIV. From an early age, he learned to plan ahead, prioritise, and work autonomously—habits forged through research-led, project-based learning and frequent oral presentations. CIV’s culture encouraged doubt, reflection and debate over rote memorisation, nurturing his appetite for inquiry and clear argumentation. Outside academics, he discovered tennis, a pursuit he still enjoys. Today, rigour, emotional self‑management and a strong sense of justice guide his decisions. He brings structured analysis, clarity of communication and ethical purpose to complex challenges in economics and finance

Now training as a doctor in Coimbra, Constança achieved her childhood dream of entering medical school through the disciplined study habits and perseverance developed over 15 years at CIV. Over a decade of ballet, participation in the dance and arts clubs, and inter-school cross‑country and CIV “Olympics” shaped her well‑rounded character.

Our school taught her to plan and build study routines, speak up and think independently, soft skills she uses daily in a demanding medical environment.

— Constança Castro, Medical Student at Coimbra University

Wouter is a graduate of aerospace engineering at TU Delft, and he found his university studies surprisingly familiar, thanks to the advanced concepts covered in his A‑Level programme at CIV. Beyond A‑Levels, teachers went past the curriculum, introducing him to programming (Visual Basic) and nurturing both scientific curiosity and a love of sport. Inspired by his teachers’ enthusiasm and rigour, he developed the independence, study technique, persistence and stress tolerance that underpin his current research ambitions

— Wouter van der Sluis, Aerospace Engineering Graduate – TU Delft

Head of Marketing and Business Development at A+ Interiors in Portugal, Natasha has coupled disciplined academics with creativity. At CIV, a demanding yet inspiring environment nurtured her ambition to study internationally. She discovered a passion for business and dance. Project‑based learning sparked curiosity about how organisations and markets work, while dance remains her enduring hobby and outlet.

CIV equipped her with public speaking, structured communication and a strong work ethic, plus adaptability to multicultural contexts—skills she relied on while studying and living abroad. She values knowledge, resilience and contributing to society through both career and philanthropy, and she champions a collaborative mindset that lifts peers and teams. Today, she applies this blend of rigour, initiative and empathy to drive growth and meaningful impact.

Studying business management entirely in English at Nova SBE, Francisco traces his entrepreneurial spirit to close mentorship and project‑based learning at Vilamoura International School. Since kindergarten, he honed English fluency, public speaking and debate through constant presentations and tech‑driven projects, culminating in research on the history of capitalism and the role of ICT in the economy, which foreshadowed his current ventures in digital commerce and marketing.

— Francisco Amado, Business Management Student – Nova SBE

A third‑year BSc in Business Administration student at Católica Lisbon, Carlota credits CIV with a holistic preparation for the future. Alongside rigorous academics, she learned to communicate effectively, think critically, solve problems and manage time and priorities—skills she uses daily.

Volunteering introduced her to the social economy, igniting a lasting commitment to initiatives that blend business discipline with community impact. Public speaking has become a signature strength, and she continues to seek opportunities to serve, including plans to spend a month in Africa teaching children. Anchored in integrity, empathy and perseverance, Carlota aims to build a career that aligns performance with purpose while collaborating across perspectives with respect and openness.
