Teachers look for ways to create more engaging lessons through Erasmus+

How do we make classes a more inviting space of interaction for students? This is one of the training goals acquired by Mathematics teacher Andrew Smith, in Florence, Italy, through the course "Gamification in the classroom".

Inserted in the scope of the european program Erasmus+, this course took the teachers to research methods that contemplated the use of smartphones and computers. creating captivating content using applications such as Padlet, NearPod, Quizlet, Plikers, Goose Chase, Stop Motion Studio and Minecraft Education Edition.

Through the Goose Chase app on their smartphone, trainees completed tasks and challenges while touring the beautiful city of Florence. The guided tour of the capital of Italy's Tuscany region allowed them to learn about the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Via Torta, the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza San Pier Maggiore and the history of the Medicci family. And art, lots of art, at the Galleria Degli Uffizi, including masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Caravaggio.
