Kindergarten
The Foundation stage of education caters for students between the ages of 3 and 5, with the aim of making a positive contribution to early development and learning. As children develop rapidly during this time physically; intellectually; emotionally and socially, it is important to develop key learning skills, such as listening, speaking, concentration, persistence and cooperation. At CIV, the importance of communication, creative thinking, problem solving is highlighted in every aspect of learning.
The curriculum is set according to ‘stepping stones’ that will contribute towards the achievement of early learning goals, which inadvertently will establish a solid foundation throughout their school years and further education. The areas of learning and early learning goals are:
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Mathematical Development
- Creative Development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the world
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical and Motor Development
Children who feel safe, included and valued show progress on a daily basis, both emotionally and intellectually. Parents and staff work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect in order to provide the child with confidence and security. Parents participate in learning activities and contribute with international stories and songs, much to the students’ amazement.
