Admissions Process

Start Your Child's Journey Towards Achievement Today

A world of possibilities awaits your child at Vilamoura International School. Our strong commitment to educational excellence drives us to continually enhance our programmes, ensuring every student enjoys a personalised and enriching learning experience. Graduates leave equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to thrive, both now and in the future.

CIV educates students aged 3 to 18 in both the National and International curriculum pathways. As an international school, we accept applications year-round, subject to availability. For any questions regarding the admissions process, please contact the Admissions Office.

Due to high demand and limited availability, we recommend beginning the admissions process at least 12 months before the desired entry year.

2

Complete the Application Form

After submitting the Enquiry Form, you will receive an automatic email with further information, including access to a personalised admissions checklist. One of the key steps in this checklist is completing the Application Form.

If applying to Primary School onwards, please upload the most recent school report through the OpenApply portal.

3

Visit the School

As part of the Admissions Checklist, families are invited to schedule a meeting with the Head of Admissions via the OpenApply platform. The meeting may take place either in person or online and, when applicable, may also include the relevant Heads of School and the School Psychologist.

The visit provides an opportunity to discuss your child’s individual needs, explore curriculum options, and enjoy a personalised tour of our facilities.

4

Student Meeting & Assessment

To understand each child’s academic and developmental needs, students may be invited to complete an age-appropriate assessment:

  • Younger children: Informal observations during a visit or a taster morning.
  • Grade 5 and above (National Curriculum) / Grade 6 and above (International Curriculum): Written assessments or interviews.
  • International Curriculum (Grade 3 and above): Online, age-related objective assessment test (GL Cognitive Ability Test 4).

These assessments help us ensure each child can thrive within our learning environment.

5

Admissions Decision

The Admissions Team will inform you if your application is successful and provide the next steps.

Depending on your child’s profile, you may receive:

  • Confirmation of admission – welcoming your child to our school community
  • Conditional offer – for example, participation in an intensive English or Portuguese course to help ensure a smooth academic and social transition.

6

Offer Acceptance

After accepting the admission confirmation or conditional offer, families finalise the enrolment process via the admissions platform by paying the enrolment fee, signing the school contract, and submitting the Enrolment Form. Your child’s place is officially confirmed once all these steps are complete. Our team will support you at every stage to make the process smooth, welcoming, and straightforward, ensuring your child’s journey at CIV begins with confidence and excitement.
