Primary School
Education influences and reflects the values of society, therefore it is important to recognise common purposes, values and aims. The CIV curriculum is aimed at enabling young people to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
The English Studies’ primary became an approved Cambridge Primary School, in September 2014. The Cambridge Primary Curriculum is followed in English, Mathematics and Science, culminating with an International Primary Checkpoint exam set and marked by CIE. Geography, History, ICT (Information and Communication technology), Music, Physical Education and Art continue to embrace the British National Curriculum, adapted to Portugal.
Subjects are taught through a cross curricula programme, where there are common issues or areas of learning. Thematic days and assemblies, usually highlight the learning objectives and provide great enjoyment to all.
